It was great to have Professor Venkatesh N. Murthy, Professor of MCB & Director of the Centre for Brain Science, Harvard University at our Flexible Bioelectronics and Wearables Lab. We had long and insightful discussions on the future of this field and the role of emerging Organ-on-chip devices for understanding the fundamental behavior of neural circuits. We also discussed how the Brain-on-a-chip platform, combining both electrophysiology and optogenetics, can aid neuroscientists in their work.
Dr Amit Roy, Vice President and Head of Semiconductor AI/GenAI, HCLTech ERS, visited our Flexible Bioelectronics and Wearables Lab, Shiv Nadar University. Amit da and I had long discussions regarding our work and the potential of Bioelectronics. We have been recently working together and discussed our long-term vision on Biosensing and Bioelectronics. My PhD candidates also interacted with him and demonstrated the sensor prototypes we have been developing. Exciting times ahead for Bioelectronics research. I am excited for our long-term partnership.
Dhairya presented our work on tunable, nanomaterial-functionalised piezocapacitive sensors at the prestigious IEEE ICEE 2025 conference. In parallel, our Flexible Bioelectronics and Wearables Lab is actively collaborating with industry partners across the technology and healthcare sectors to translate these developments into deployable, real-world devices.
Had a very productive meeting with Dr Sangeeta Semwal and Mrs Sunita Verma at the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India Headquarters. Exciting times ahead for Bioelectronics. We discussed the potential of emerging bioelectronic devices and the urgent need for setting up manufacturing capability in India.
It was great to attend the Inaugural speech of ESTIC 2025 by our Honourable Prime Minister. This is one of its kind venture which brought together nobel laureates experts from academia and Industry. Also, quite excited about the launch of the 1 lakh Crore RDI fund to boost innovation and high risk research.
It was a wonderful experience to host Prof. Suraj P Khanna, PhD and Dr Satish Singh from the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL) for a talk and workshop on "Electroconductive Textiles: Emerging Materials for Large-Area and Wearable Devices". This was arranged under the recent MoU signed between CSIR-National Physical Laboratory and Shiv Nadar University. Professor Khanna and Dr Singh visited our Flexible Biolelectronics and Wearables lab and interacted with my group.
Visited RITES Ltd. for an upcoming project. Had an opportunity to visit an upcoming cable-stayed bridge construction site at Kalyani, West Bengal. The work is jointly carried out by RITES Ltd. and L&T Ltd.
Glad to attend IEEE FLEPS 2025, Singapore, as an IEEE Young Professionals panellist and judge for IEEE YP posters and BiG Idea pitch awards. Big thanks to Shiv Nadar Foundation and Shiv Nadar University for the financial support. Would also like to acknowledge the financial support from IEEE Young Professionals.
Good to be back to Singapore after 8 years and meeting old friends! Visited ASTAR Singapore and met my good friend Daniel Chen after 7 years. Looking forward to our collaborations!
Was invited by Professor Dipak Goswami, Chairperson, School of Nanoscience and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur to deliver a seminar on “ Leveraging MEMS and biomimetics for next generation wearables and Organ-on-a-chip”. We discussed our mutual research interests and plans for future collaborative research.
